EchoKey creates a shared authenticator key for two people. Add the same key to both phones, then compare the 6-digit code whenever you need to verify each other.

Manual secret key

In Google Authenticator: Add account → Enter a setup key → paste this secret (Time based, 6 digits).

Anyone with this QR code or key can use the EchoKey. Share it only with the intended person.

Authenticator setup

  1. Install Google Authenticator (simplest), Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password.
  2. Tap Add account.
  3. Scan the QR code.
  4. Add the same EchoKey on the other person’s phone.
  5. To verify, both people compare the current 6-digit code.

Share with someone else

Recipient: open Google Authenticator → Add accountScan a QR code → choose the image you sent (or use Enter a setup key with the manual key).

Setup link (unreliable — not recommended)

This otpauth:// string is only encoded in the QR. Tapping or opening it is inconsistent; iOS may open Passwords instead of your authenticator.

Keys are generated in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server.
